URL: https://mochatrade.com/learn
Last modified: 2026-10-21

MochaLearn is a free course on the US market, its assets, and how to trade them, built for people who already trade Indian markets.

Short video lectures on the Mochatrade YouTube channel, each with notes, key takeaways and a quiz. It is for someone who trades futures and options on the NSE: it assumes you know futures, option chains, margin and expiry, and runs in a fixed order — the market, then the assets, then the instruments and the risks.

## Modules

- Module 0: Start here (3 lectures) — Three short lectures before the course proper: who it is for and the order it runs in, one NVIDIA trade followed from entry to exit in the Mochatrade terminal, and a four-question routine for reading US market news. A five-question quiz on futures, options, margin and expiry closes the module. https://mochatrade.com/learn/start-here
- Module 1: US market structure (8 lectures) — Seven lectures on the US market itself: the institutions and their history, how a stock's price forms across exchanges, who moves prices through policy and through trading, and how the Fed, inflation, jobs and earnings reach a position. Each is a short video from the Mochatrade channel with notes, key takeaways and a quiz. https://mochatrade.com/learn/us-market-structure
- Module 2: Real-world assets (2 lectures) — Where commodity trading came from and where its prices are made today, then the assets themselves, starting with the precious metals: what gold is, who holds it, the four reasons its price moves, and how silver, platinum and palladium differ. Energy and base metals follow as they are recorded. https://mochatrade.com/learn/real-world-assets
- Module 3: Trading instruments — The instruments you trade with, and the mechanics of each. (coming soon)
- Module 4: Taxes and regulations — The rules and the tax treatment that apply, and the records to keep. (coming soon)
- Module 5: Risk management and position sizing — How much to put on, where to get out, and what it can cost. (coming soon)
- Module 6: An end-to-end testnet trade — Everything in the course, run once as a single trade on the testnet. (coming soon)

## About MochaLearn

MochaLearn is a free A to Z course on understanding and trading US stocks and commodities, built for Indian traders. It starts with the basics of the US stock market: how the US government and regulators shape it, how a price forms on the NYSE and Nasdaq, and when each session falls in IST. Then it covers what moves the market: the Federal Reserve and interest rates, inflation (CPI, PPI and PCE), the jobs report and earnings. Next come commodities and other real-world assets: gold, silver, crude oil, natural gas, copper and US government bonds. The last modules cover trading instruments, tax and regulation in India, and risk and position sizing, and the course ends with one complete trade on a practice venue, with no money at risk. It is built around the questions Indian traders ask, such as how to trade US stocks from India, when the US market opens in IST, and why a Fed decision at night moves Nifty the next morning. Each lecture is a short video with notes and a quiz, and a glossary defines each term the course uses, from FOMC to USD/INR. You do not need to know the US market. If you are new to futures and options (F&O), the course points you to a free primer first. MochaLearn is made by Mochatrade. It is free to read and watch with no signup, and it never gives tips or calls. Educational content only. Not investment advice.
