Nasdaq is the American exchange that began in 1971 as [one screen showing every dealer quote side by side](https://mochatrade.com/learn/us-market-structure/us-stock-market-explained), the first market with no floor. When a contract on Nvidia trades at 3 AM IST, the [official close it remembers](https://mochatrade.com/learn/us-market-structure/how-us-stock-prices-form) printed here, and [the dealers on that screen](https://mochatrade.com/learn/us-market-structure/who-moves-us-stocks) are still the other side of most trades.
