A ticker symbol is the short code an exchange gives a listed security: NVDA for Nvidia, AAPL for Apple. Nasdaq tickers usually run four letters and NYSE ones up to three. It is the first thing on screen in [one NVDA trade, start to finish](https://mochatrade.com/learn/start-here/nvidia-trade-walkthrough), and a contract on the stock carries the same code, as [the Mochatrade listing](https://mochatrade.com/support/what-can-i-trade-on-mochatrade) shows.
