Joint, Family and Third-Party Bank Accounts

Mochatrade accepts only a savings account of a resident individual, held in your own name, with the name at the bank matching your PAN, and not already linked to another Mochatrade account. Deposits and withdrawals move only between your verified account and Mochatrade.

Prerequisites & Limits

  • Own name only: The account holder name at the bank must match the name on your PAN.

  • Family or friend's account: Cannot be linked, even with their permission. Deposits sent from someone else's account are not credited — they are refunded to the account they came from.

  • Joint accounts: Allowed only if you are the primary holder, and our team reviews each joint account before approving it. Joint accounts where you are not the primary holder are rejected.

  • NRE / NRO / current / corporate accounts: Not accepted — only resident individual savings accounts.

  • Already linked elsewhere: An account linked to another Mochatrade account is rejected.

  • Withdrawals: Paid only to your verified bank account, never to a third party. Withdrawals to a newly added account start after a short security hold.

Step-by-Step Navigation

  1. Go to Funds, then Linked accounts, then Add bank account (or Settings, then Bank and UPI).

  2. Enter your IFSC and account number, then tap Verify with a ₹1 credit — we send ₹1 to confirm the account is yours and the name matches your PAN.

  3. Once verified, tap Use this account.

  4. Adding a joint account where you are the primary holder? It goes for review — we will update you once it is checked.

Common Failures & Troubleshooting

  • 'Account belongs to another individual': The account is in a family member's or friend's name — add a savings account in your own name instead.

  • Joint account rejected: You are not the primary holder on that account. Use an account where you are the primary holder, or a sole account in your name.

  • NRE / NRO / current / corporate rejected: Only resident individual savings accounts can be verified.

  • 'Already linked to another Mochatrade account': If you believe you own that account too, contact support — our team will run an ownership check. We cannot reveal which account it is linked to.

  • Name mismatch: Small differences like initials, a middle name or name order are reviewed by our team; a clearly different name means the account cannot be verified.
