Why Your Execution Price Differs From the Displayed Price

The displayed market price can move between placing and filling your order. The gap comes from the spread or from slippage during fast market moves.

Prerequisites & Limits

  • Market price: the current displayed price of the contract.

  • Execution price: the actual price your order fills at.

  • Spread: the difference between the buying and selling price at any moment.

Step-by-Step Navigation

  1. Sign in at mochatrade.com, open Trade and go to the Order history tab.

  2. Click a completed trade to see its execution price.

  3. To control your fill price next time, choose a Limit order on the order ticket.

Common Failures & Troubleshooting

  • Big gap on a Market order: Fast-moving markets cause slippage. Use a Limit order to set your price.

  • Gap even in calm markets: That's the spread between buy and sell prices.
